Real Men Wear PINK!

I've seen t-shirts that say "real men wear pink" and I've seen men carrying bags or little umbrellas or dolls for their little girls and they all laugh about how "secure they are with their masculinity" etc! Well today... I was out shopping for some winter boots/coats whatever for the boys for NEXT year because why not get it on sale?! Well at PAYLESS SHOES, they had some boys (navy) AIRWALK boots on for $15 and the same boots in PINK were only $7 - how unfair is that?! Soooo being the thrifty person that I am, guess which boots I bought!? JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!! I won't do that to my boys :) If you're STILL wondering - I bought the blue ones! But really how retarded is that? I am going to call all my girlfriends though and tell them to run out & get boots for their daughters....

Fantastic

Last night, before I went out, I made soup and some Dilled Cheese Muffins (found on page 36 of the Port Alberni Elim Tab Church Cookbook - submitted by Marci F - got that?!) Anyways, this morning as I was helping Ethan with his winter clothes for school, he said, "Mom - those biscuits you made for supper last night were FANTASTIC". I thought that was so precious! They weren't good or yummy or delicious... in his mind they were FANTASTIC! They are basically a baking powder biscuit but even easier because you scoop them in a muffin pan - no rolling or cutting. Made my day :)

Mr. January

"I'm a firefighter!" This is our contribution to the firefighters calendar! Jackson got these dress-up clothes for his birthday (last October) and has lived in them for the past two days - the hat even went to bed with him last night! Anyways.. seeing him all dressed up and only wearing his underwear made me think of the "annual calendar" - you all know the one I mean!

I know my Uncle Glenn was going for the title because as of last month, he's now the firehall mechanic, but...

Happy Birthday

Here's a card that I made for my friend Rhonda's birthday. It was inspired by some black & white ribbon that I got from Michael's and of course my new "Polka Dots & Paisley" stamp set that I just got for Christmas FREE from Stampin' Up! (thanks Shelli). This stamp set will be featured in the Spring Mini Catalogue... stay tuned!

Now onto Rhonda's birthday... we went out for appies to Brewsters since appies are 1/2 price on Tuesdays. She goes there once n' awhile and I keep saying that I'll join her so... that was my ploy to get her out for a little birthday outing & me out for some girl time!!!!! We had a fun evening and two other friends were able to join the "party" too so we pulled off a little mini surprise! Also, it was the day before her birthday, so she was less suspecting!

Yay! - we found some!!!!

I R'town, one of the guys Miles grew up with, owns a pizza place and serves the most unique kinds... spinach, taco, cheeseburger... well this afternoon we were trying to decide what to eat etc. and I said, "let's order in something big enough to last ALL weekend!" I asked if he thought Bosh would deliver from R'town?! Haha! So that inspired him to check out the phonebook and he found the Copper Kettle Restaurant, apparently featured on CBC's Great Canadian Food Show - we get to chow down on TACO and SEAFOOD pizza's (that would be two... not combined)! Maybe next time we'll try the IRISH or the GYRO pizza?

The results: It was great pizza but Bosh's taco pizza wins hands down! We still have lots left... supper, breakfast, lunch.....

Gingerbread House!

Well we're a little late in our gingerbread "creation" so it was a New Years event, rather than Christmas! (I did get it on sale though!) Next year I will be more prepared with a better variety of candy & accessories! According to Ethan, this is "Mr. Mint's house"! Due to sanitary issues, it is being eaten by it's creators! However, we are offering Uncle Angus a bite.... any takers!? We had fun & that's what matters :)
