little fishies...

Today was the first day of our two week swimming lesson adventure! I wasn't sure how it was going to go but we woke up to a gorgeous sunny day (very important when it's an outdoor pool) and all the boys cooperated and did very well. Ethan is in swim-kids 3, Jackson is in swim-kids 1, Liam is a 'sea turtle' and Cole is a 'duck'.... which means I get to be a momma duck! Cole wasn't too sure of things at first (he does love the water though) but by the end he was mad he had to get out because they get a few minutes of playtime at the end and he didn't want to part with the balls & boats etc! Also for a little guy, it was quite interesting that one of his favourite things was blowing bubbles! Most kids are afraid to stick their faces in the water but he loved it! Each lesson is half an hour, starting with Ethan, followed by J&L (same time, different class), a 1/2 hour break and then Coley. It worked out not too bad! On our way out, we stopped at the canteen and the 3 oldest boys had a fudgsicle, while the 'duck family' shared an orange popsicle (since Cole's shirt was orange!) A fun start to summer... one lesson down... nine more to go! Don't worry - there will be pictures!

We also have some camping spots booked for various dates throughout the summer, had a couple BBQ's over the weekend with our new Broil-King gas BBQ and we're looking forward to a quick visit with some out-of-town friends tomorrow! What are your summer plans? Some people think our summer is too busy but it is such an incredibly short season here, we NEED to make the most of it! I love having all the boys home & doing family things together :)
